well, i think i am done with this blog.

So, this may come as a shock but I think this blog is near its end. The only reason for this is because I have a new blog that I am working on. I find it more interesting. Anyway, if you would like to look at that one or even follow it you can follow the link here.

It's been a long time!

Well it has been quite a while since I last posted. Nothing to exciting has happened. We did go down to Utah to see Kathryn's family. Fishing was a ton of fun and as soon as I can get it from Schyler I will have to put up a video of Kathryn's sister catching fish! It is super funny!
School is going pretty well for the both of us and I will have to post some of the new Photography work that I am doing this semester. I hope that it turn out well and if anyone wants me to do any work for them I would love to!
oh and I think I will also be working at the haunted Mill in Teton again this year! So if you are in the Rexburg/ Idaho Falls area you should definitely come!

On the other hand.....

So this is going to be a somewhat longer post. If you really aren't interested in hearing all of it, you may leave now.
So first thing, Kathryn and I went grocery shopping last saturday and she went coupon crazy. Now I must admit that I am somewhat embarrassed when it comes to using those things. I mean I kinda feel like white trash when I bust out a coupon for like 25 cents off a $1 item. Can I afford to pay that 25 cents? Sure can. Why save a quarter? Cuz I am stingy and want to take an extra five minuets in line what the checker makes sure I grabbed the correct item. So Kathryn busts out like a dozen coupons, albertson doubler coupons, and the savings card. Now I am all for saving money and using it for fun stuff but boy did I feel like a jerk. I mean I let like a half dozen people go in front of me so that they wouldn't have to wait for this chaos to ensue. Well, suffice it to say, we spent about $75 on groceries that day. They even crazier part is that when we go home I added up our savings and found out we should have paid over $150 for everything we go. We SAVED about 50% off our grocery bill. So I guess it was worth it.
On the next note, how crazy are all these women who love Twilight. I just found a site called twilightmoms.com on the internets. I watched a video about how people have leaked photos from the next movie and blah blah blah. Anyway I ended up googleing to see these pictures and got that site! On the front page it says that it is a site for Moms and Adult women who love twilight! Is it just me or is this really creepy? I admit that I can't really grow up and get over video games but I think there is a difference in enjoying a game where you shoot aliens and stuff like that and drooling over a kid who is like barely 17 or 18. Icky! Do I not get it?
On my final note; I reall enjoy a comedian named Gabriel Iglesia. He has this joke about there being 6 levels of fat. Healthy, hefty, husky, fluffy, damn, and "AH Hell NO!". I wonder if there are like half levels of fat. Like in-between healthy and hefty is there a "huh?" category? The reason I ask this is because I walked down some stairs in one of the buildings on campus, the smith to be exact, and had a guy stop and have to decide which side of me he was going to go on so as not to accidentally grope me. Now I admit that I was coming down the middle of the stairs but how fat do I have to be that you need to stop, look, and think to yourself, "hmm, his left side is looking a little more fluffy then his right side. I think I will pass on the right." These stairs are like 6 feet wide! I cannot be like more then like 2 feet wide myself! HOW FAT AM I!?!?!?! Am I an odd shape of fat? Like not round or oval but like a five year-olds rendition of a circle. You know where one side is a little more pronounced then the other. What is wrong with me?

So anyway that is everything that is on my mind right now. Have a great day and hopefully nothing else crazy happens to me.
laters and love,
The awkward circle.

Something amazing I guess......

So today was an interesting day. In archery we were trying to shoot little balloons from about 20 yards away. One of the other students shot and his arrow went in sideways (he shot from the other side of the gym). I then shot an arrow and shot threw the shaft of his. Pretty cool if you ask me.
Other then that today is going alright. Nothing great in the news. LATERS!

BLAH BLAH BLAH I'm back to blogging!

So I know that I don't blog all that often but that is mostly cuz NOTHING exciting happens to up. We are home bodies, who don't socialize. We are so boring sometimes but I wouldn't change a thing. Anyway just wanted to let anyone and everyone know that I am going to try to do better and blogging this year and who know, I may even vlog a bit. I don't really know. Also i will hopefully be posting a picture of my art piece that I just did. I hope ya'll like it. It took my about 5 hours to do. Anyway, that should be up later today. Oh and please keep the missionaries in your prayers. There were a couple of elders in Romania, I think, who accidental suffocated due to a natural gas leak in the apartment. Have a great day guys! oh and you can follow me on twitter @UltimoEdrick! LATERS!

Like the US government, I am undecided.

So I thought that I would post this to the blog and see what the rest of the family thinks we should do. I am not saying that your opinions will have much weight when it comes to the final decision but I am looking for other outside opinions.
I am currently enrolled in school as an art major. My specific degree title at this point is Integrated Studio Art. For the real world this a Bachelor of Art degree. I am looking of applying to the BFA or Bachelor of Fine Arts program. In the real world these two degrees really don't mean much to potential employers. My current concern is that I want to get into and finish a BFA but I am not sure if it will really help me out in the real world. I will now proceed to list the good and bad of each degree.

B.A.- (GOOD) I won't have to spend an extra $2,000 to finish this degree and I can still minor in Photography. I can minor in art ED and get a teaching certificate. (BAD) I will have a harder time getting into a masters program.

B.F.A.- (GOOD) Easier time getting into masters programs if I need to. May give me more credit to the more artsy jobs. (BAD) I will need to take out a student loan to pay for all the costs. Doesn't guarantee a better paying job out of college then a BA degree.

Now this really isn't a comprehensive list of all that is good or bad with each degree but I think it hits the main points. There are also family issues and school issues that I haven't included to keep things less complicated.
Suffice it to say that I am really torn as to which I want to do but I think I know which way I am leaning. Please e-mail me or facebook me what you think. Thanks.

Doing the Party

So this past weekend I went down to Twin to Shoot some Pictures for my sisters birthday. It was kind of crazy but it did give me some good shots. I only have one that I have done work for so far so I will post that one. Also I am going to try and enter a competition here at the school for my photography. I don't know if I will even place but I will post my submissions next tuesday.

Maybe I'm back.

After a long hiatus from writing on the blog, I am here to make an update. The past little while has been both crazy and mundane. One semester has ended and another begun. Kathryn is out of school right now and working two, almost three, jobs. She is still working for the school, she is working at the Rexburg Opinion Center, and she will be starting another job in about 2 weeks. I am working for the school and doing almost 19 credits. Suffice it to say, we don't see much of each other. I will be down in twin falls this weekend taking pictures so that should be crazy. Not much else to report on.

I love you peta!

I know this may sound weird but peta (people for the ethical treatment of animals) has given me one of my new favorite words. They have decided that all those cute fish in the sea are being eaten so we need to change their name from Fish to sea kittens. I don't think peta really thought this one through. I don't know what it is about the name but instead of making me NOT want to eat them it is doing to opposite! I actually want to go out and have a nice sea kitten dinner! I also found this picture that is just awesome!

I think this is a great gage as to how crazy our society is becoming! Why can't I eat fish without some crazy tree huggers complain that i am evil and a hate monger! They are crazy! HAVE A FANTASTIC DAY!

The big cut.

So as all of you are aware this is how Kathryn's hair use to look. As you can tell this post is to announce that Kathryn has cut her hair and it is quite different then from this picture. Now of course i think she looks stunning but i guess I am a little biased.

So here is a picture of her getting her hair cut. The Lady doing her hair is about six months pregnant and she claimed that kneeling down was the most comfortable stance she had been in all day.

And here is the final product. I think she looks super cute. It is so nice to actually see her neck. She is such an awesome girl and a good sport. She loves her new hair cut and i can't do anything to tell her otherwise (not that i would).

Ode to a public education.

if anyone has any doubt about how awesome a public education really is you have to look at this picture. Someone should have really checked this kids spelling before he turned it in. It is really cute but wrong on so many levels.

Kathryn's Birthday!

Today is Kathryn's birthday. I felt bad because it was a sunday but i don't think she minded to much because she got to relax. My parents came up to take us out to dinner, a Ballestero tradition. We went to this great place in Idaho Falls called Smitty's. You get so much food for you buck. It was one of the most amazing places I have eaten at in a long time.
Oh, today was also the first official day of Kathryn's new calling as Relief Society President. She said it went really well. I am so proud of her.
School has also started for us which is crazy. I am taking 18.5 credits while Kathryn is taking 14. We really don't get to see each other much so this weekend has been wonderful.

New Years

For New Years we went down to Utah to spend time with Kathryn's family. We went with Jenny and Schyler to play in the snow. We went to some rental properties that Schyler's Dad owns and went sledding behind a four wheeler. We had a bit of a rough start with Porter but in the end i think he had fun. I will let you decide from the pictures. I don't think Allison was having to much fun but in the end she was all smiles. It was one of the best New Years I have ever had.

Christmas

Well it has been a while since i have done a real post so here we go.
For Christmas we went down to my folks. It was a nice vacation from all the hoopla. We spent 3 days there and when we tried to come home on the second day the roads were so icy that we had to stay another day. All in all it was way fun. I got this awesome game called Acquire. It would take to long to explain it here but never the less it was way fun. We went up to the south hills on christmas eve which was way fun. I thought we were going to die because of how slick it was. anywho it was cool.

A real east coast education......

Glenn Beck has provided me with yet another humorous picture. This one is from a Philadelphia PA Burger King. You have to laugh. I found it so funny i almost wet myself. anywho, enjoy. I love how meat is spelled meet. CLASSIC!!!

Pushing buttons and other crazy things.

So I have really come to love most of the pictures of the day at Glenn Beck's Website. I thought this one would get people laughing.
Anyway this week has been pretty nice. REALLY cold but nice. Kathryn and I started our new jobs at the school doing early morning custodial work. It really isn't that bad of a job but boy i am ready for bed by 4. Sad i know....
We are also getting ready for Christmas with my parents. We will be taking everything up with us so that we can open everything in one day and not feel like we got hosed.
We also got Craig and DeAnn's present out to them. I hope that they like it. I won't post what it is yet because it won't get to them until after Christmas (my bad).
So anyway no posts tell after Christmas, maybe.

The best gift Wal-Mart can give

I saw this picture on the Glenn Beck website and I fell in love with it. If you have ever been to a wal-mart you have seen most if not all of them.

I remember all the wal-marts in the south had all of these all the time. It was so sad and yetso funny.I wish i would have taken pictures of it.

Also i though i would take this time to tell Brian and Wendy that i will take the youtube link off of this page so that megan will stay off. I will instead imbed them into the page.

Also merry christmas to all just in case i forget!

Thanksgiving and Glenn Beck

Well it has been quite a while since the last time i have posted but i feel a small obligation to do this.
Thanksgiving went pretty well for us. We went and saw Kathryn's family for the holiday. Nothing to exciting happened but we did have fun with the bingo game. I feel it was a success since we didn't come home with anything that we took! so woo hoo.

On Tuesday we went down to Idaho Falls to see Glenn Beck and have him sign my copy of the Christmas Sweater. If you haven't read his book i highly suggest you do.
Anyway we got there about a half hour early and after about an hour and a half wait i got my book signed. The only complaint that i have is that I only got like 3 seconds to talk to him. But from those few seconds of looking into his eyes i could tell that he is a changed man. He has that look that he really cares.
